The Ultimate Home Smoothie Bar

January 16, 2010

I’m on a mission to build the Ultimate Home Smoothie Bar, and I need your help.

I got a Blendtec ICB7 Blender for Christmas (Thanks Nana!),

What are your favorite “must have” ingredients for yummy healthy smoothies?
And if you have a special source for them please list that as well.
Please comment below.
Thanks!

Oh man…. there’s tons of them, which I must admit I learned from Craig & Sue. Cacao gives you a buzz, helps you concentrate, etc… Coconut water / Coconut milk give a lot of nice flavor. Coconut flakes give a nice texture. Mango, Tito’s, apples, bananas, kittens, schnauzer snakes, and a little bit of cayenne pepper.

Here’s one video of craig making a smoothie– but do NOT put digestive enzymes into it!

Hey Matt, CJ’s favorite smoothie: banana, strawberries, blueberries, a little bit of orange juice and your favorite yogurt. Try to have one of these every morning.

I can help you… give me a couple days and i will make a comprehensive list ingredients and sources. I am super busy packing. To start one of favorites is super simple: banana, coconut meat or flakes, and spring water. I got hooked on that ‘lassie’ in thailand. add cocao for a kick

Here is what I do.

I just go with a little of everything.

Tsp. Spirulina powder
Tsp on chia powder
Tsp flax seeds (pinch)
Splash of Acai juice
1 banana
Cacao nibs (just a few)
Splash of mango juice
Goji extract just a little
Pour a little hemp milk on it (more than the other liquids)
Frozen fruit whatever kind you want.
Top off with a little water to help the blender and liquify things.

I have even added a little protein powder to the mix too

Blend and enjoy!

Leafy green kale is very good for you and putting it into a smoothie is great. Here’s some tips on using it in a Blendtec – http://www.smoothie-handbook.com/kale-recipes.html

To your good health!
